Accountabilities
- Lead revenue cycle strategy and execution, overseeing billing operations, financial workflows, compliance processes, and team performance.
- Maintain billing operational readiness for new insurance plans, payer relationships, and geographic expansion initiatives.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to evaluate revenue cycle technologies, automation opportunities, reporting tools, and system integrations.
- Optimize EHR and billing system configurations to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Identify operational gaps and develop processes that reduce manual work while improving revenue capture.
- Support expansion into new markets by implementing billing workflows for additional payer programs, including Medicaid initiatives.
- Manage and mentor a team of billing specialists, providing guidance, performance support, and professional development.
- Provide leadership updates and insights by translating revenue data into actionable recommendations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, billing operations, or related healthcare financial operations roles.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management or team leadership position.
- Strong experience with healthcare billing workflows, claims processing, denial management, payer follow-up, and revenue optimization.
- Experience with Medi-Cal, Medicaid billing, or multi-state Medicaid programs is strongly preferred.
- Background in telehealth, reproductive health, women’s health, or digital healthcare environments is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing billing systems, EHR platforms, and related operational tools.
- Strong knowledge of clearinghouse workflows, ERA/EOB reconciliation, and CPT/ICD-10 coding practices for virtual and reproductive care.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with Clinical, Finance, Product, Business Development, and Operations teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex billing concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
