Director of Recreation

About the role

The Director of Recreation will plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs at CareOne at Livingston. They will also participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments, serve on various committees, prepare and project annual budgets, and track expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments
• Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility, including CQI, Care Plan Meeting, Department Head Meeting
• Prepare and project annual budget, track expenditures compared to budget on a monthly basis

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role
• Must be familiar with documentation requirements for Long Term Care
• Must possess leadership ability and motivational skills for effective communication and program development with staff and residents
• Able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings/weekends
• Previous experience with dementia activities preferred
• Activity Director Certification

Qualifications

A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, familiarity with documentation requirements for Long Term Care, leadership ability and motivational skills, flexibility in scheduling, previous experience with dementia activities, and Activity Director Certification are required.

Skills

Leadership ability, motivational skills, effective communication, program development, flexibility in scheduling, and experience with dementia activities are desirable skills for this position.
