About the role

The Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom operations to ensure all hotel departments have the supplies and resources needed to deliver exceptional service. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this leadership role drives procurement strategy, vendor relationships, inventory management, cost control, and compliance while supporting operational excellence across the hotel.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the daily operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom teams to ensure efficient procurement processes and inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while identifying high-quality products and competitive pricing opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Four Seasons purchasing policies, internal controls, contract requirements, and competitive bidding procedures.
  • Partner with operational leaders, including Finance, Food & Beverage, and Culinary teams, to support business needs and cost management initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels, storeroom organization, receiving procedures, and monthly reporting to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and inventory activities related to operating supplies, equipment, and capital projects.
  • Recruit, coach, train, and develop Purchasing team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Analyze purchasing trends and costs, providing recommendations that enhance quality standards and support financial objectives.

What You Bring

  • Minimum five years of hotel purchasing experience, including at least two years in a Director of Purchasing or comparable leadership role.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control experience within a hospitality environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, influence stakeholders, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and procurement systems.

Schedule & Hours

Full-time availability. Hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
