Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of proposal development from draft RFP through submission
- Collaborate with Business Development/Capture teams to gain understanding of win strategies and ensure proposal responses include business perspective, key messages, value proposition, and differentiators against competition
- Analyze solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.) in conjunction with other customer requirements and communications and determine final document structure
- Prepare detailed proposal plans, schedule outline, and compliance matrix for assigned pursuits
- Communicate with and coach capture teams, writers, and subject matter experts on persuasive writing and proposal best practices
- Cook up and conduct proposal meetings/events (e.g., Kickoff Meetings, Daily Standups, Color Team reviews, etc.), including and preparing advance meeting materials and facilitating discussions
- Lead effective content planning and development of strategic strengths and discriminators
- Work with the Capture Manger to identify and secure the resources necessary to develop the proposal
- Maintain tight, proactive communication with proposal and business unit leadership to ensure all necessary resources and activities are available to achieve a successful proposal submission
- Manage the production and delivery of the final proposal (adhere to all formatting directives, production, and publication guidelines)
- Support other proposal operation activities as needed (content databases, library management, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years relevant professional experience as Proposal Manager
- Successful track record of winning proposal efforts valued at $250M or more
- Proficient in MS Office business applications, including SharePoint
- Strong organizational management skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to do general editing and formatting of written material, writing new material or working with reused material, proofreading, and performing quality check of proposals under tight deadline constraints
- Proven proposal leadership skills, with the ability to build a strong team, effectively resolve conflict, and vector appropriate resources to maximize proposal development
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship; Must be able to obtain a government clearance if needed
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends when required
