The Director of Product Management will lead and scale the teams behind two critical domains at Affirm: Loans Lifecycle and Money Movement. This role requires 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3–5 years managing and developing PM teams including people managers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and growing a high-performing PM team.

  • Setting the vision and strategy for Loans Lifecycle and Money Movement, ensuring scalability, compliance, and rapid product innovation.

  • Being the domain authority on loan lifecycle mechanics, payment rails, settlement flows, and institutional transfers.

  • Driving cross-functional alignment at scale with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams.

  • Architecting platform strategies for platform scalability and international expansion.

  • Measuring and improving platform health through defined success metrics.

  • Influencing up and across the organization to shape organizational thinking and priorities.

Vision and Strategy

Own the vision and strategy for Loans Lifecycle and Money Movement. Define the multi-year product strategy for Affirm's foundational loan systems and global money movement infrastructure, ensuring they are scalable, compliant, and capable of supporting rapid product innovation.

Domain Authority

Serve as the executive-level subject matter expert on loan lifecycle mechanics, payment rails, settlement flows, and institutional transfers. Guide product, engineering, and business partners on tradeoffs, best practices, and platform decisions.

Alignment and Communication

Partner closely with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams. Navigate complexity, balance competing stakeholder needs, and build trust through clear communication and a strong delivery track record.

Platform Scalability and International Expansion

Drive platform scalability and international expansion by architecting strategies that simplify domain boundaries, standardize loan behaviors across products and markets, and unlock faster time-to-market for new geographies and product lines.

Measurement and Improvement

Define success metrics, including settlement success rates, reconciliation coverage, exception volumes, and time-to-resolution, and hold teams accountable to the reliability and accuracy standards these critical systems demand.

Influence and Leadership

Influence up and across the organization to regularly present strategy, tradeoffs, and priorities to senior leadership. Shape organizational thinking on where to invest and what to deprioritize.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3–5 years managing and developing PM teams including people managers.
  • Deep experience in loans or lending systems, understanding loan lifecycle mechanics, platform architecture for loan servicing, and compliance and operational requirements.
  • Meaningful experience in money movement, payments infrastructure, or financial operations, fluency in payment rails, settlement flows, cross-border transfers, and reliability and accuracy standards.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or banking; familiarity with BNPL, platform products, or backend infrastructure is preferred; capital markets background is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and execute long-term platform strategy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong technical fluency, comfortable diving into data models and API discussions with engineers and holding informed opinions.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted tools to accelerate work and raise the bar for the team.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, aligning Legal, Finance, Engineering, and executive leadership around a common direction.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, telling crisp, data-driven stories to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

Base pay ranges from $267,000 - $327,000 per year in the U.S., with a remote-first approach. Additional benefits include health care coverage, flexible spending wallets, time off, ESPP, and more.
