The Director of Product Management will lead and scale the teams behind two critical domains: Loans Lifecycle and Money Movement. This role requires 10+ years of product management experience, including 3-5 years managing and developing PM teams.

Loans Lifecycle

  • Define the multi-year product strategy for foundational loan systems, ensuring scalability, compliance, and rapid product innovation.
  • Translate vision into clear roadmaps and decisions that teams can execute against.
  • Set the bar for craft, create development paths, and cultivate a culture of ownership, rigor, and candor.
  • Be the domain authority on loan lifecycle mechanics, payment rails, settlement flows, and institutional transfers.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment at scale, navigating complexity, balancing competing stakeholder needs, and building trust through clear communication and a strong delivery record.
  • Enable platform scalability and international expansion by architecting strategies that simplify domain boundaries, standardize loan behaviors, and unlock faster time-to-market for new geographies and product lines.
  • Measure and improve platform health by defining success metrics and holding teams accountable to reliability and accuracy standards.
  • Influence up and across the organization by regularly presenting strategy, tradeoffs, and priorities to senior leadership and shaping organizational thinking on investments and priorities.

Money Movement

  • Own the vision and strategy for Money Movement, ensuring scalability, compliance, and rapid product innovation.
  • Translate vision into clear roadmaps and decisions that teams can execute against.
  • Be the domain authority on payment rails, settlement flows, cross-border transfers, and reliability and accuracy standards.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, and Client Success teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment at scale, navigating complexity, balancing competing stakeholder needs, and building trust through clear communication and a strong delivery record.
  • Enable platform scalability and international expansion by architecting strategies that simplify domain boundaries, standardize payment behaviors, and unlock faster time-to-market for new geographies and product lines.

Qualifications

  • Deep experience in loans or lending systems.
  • Meaningful experience in money movement, payments infrastructure, or financial operations.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or banking.
  • Strong technical fluency, comfortable diving into data models and API discussions with engineers.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted tools to accelerate work and raise the bar for the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and execute long-term platform strategy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, aligning Legal, Finance, Engineering, and executive leadership.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, telling crisp, data-driven stories to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Pay & Benefits

Base pay ranges from $267,000 to $327,000 per year in the United States, depending on location. Affirm offers competitive benefits including health care coverage, flexible spending wallets, time off, ESPP, and more. Remote work is encouraged, with some roles requiring occasional office visits.
