Director of Processing

About the role

The Director of Processing reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is primarily responsible for overseeing medical cannabis processing, extraction, and derivative products manufacturing. This role ensures productivity and efficiency within processing facilities, employee management, and quality assurance of all medical cannabis and derivative products.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the schedule of operations and provide overall extraction, manufacturing, and best practices direction to processing facilities.
• Direct supervision of all Processing Managers and Laborers, providing guidance, advice, and leadership to all processing employees.
• Deployment and oversight of operations within the processing facility, including strategic development and operations.
• Oversight of the entire processing facility and all departments within it.
• Maintain the quality of product and ensure all processing procedures comply with law, regulation, administrative rules, policy, and procedures.
• Production and scheduling of all processing activities, including planning production through all stages from crude to distillate.
• Maintain the efficiency of all necessary steps and procedures of the facility and address any operations issues.
• Manage employee and manager relations, production, and management; discipline and acknowledge employees appropriately.
• Adhere to processing protocols, including compliant labeling and meeting monthly production needs.
• Maintain production counts and tracking information for inventory, including digital inventory management and written logs.
• Skillfully plan tasks while maintaining timeliness.
• Train all new employees and managers in proper and preferred processing techniques, policy, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor inventory and stock with appropriate supplies.
• Perform all other job duties as assigned.
