About the role
The Director of Platform Engineering at OneDigital will define and lead the vision for infrastructure platforms, DevOps practices, and InfoSec, building and guiding a high-performing team to support these initiatives. This role focuses on maintaining robust cloud infrastructure optimized for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost. This role will partner with engineering leadership to align engineering strategy with company goals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision for infrastructure platform, DevOps practices, and InfoSec for the OneApp and OneDigital Operating System (ODOS) platforms, and build the team to support it.
- Partner with engineering leadership to drive engineering org vision, strategy, and execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teammates, fostering their growth and development.
- Lead technical design discussions, providing guidance on system design, architecture, best practices, and coding standards.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure with performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost in mind.
- Oversee and coordinate InfoSec strategy for the OneApp and ODOS platforms, ensuring protection of data, networks, and systems from cyber threats and breaches, and alignment with relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Manage SaaS tools and vendors that integrate with core infrastructure and IT systems.
- Drive operational excellence through process automation, documentation, instrumentation of logs and metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in related engineering, infrastructure, and/or DevOps leadership roles.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- 7+ years of experience with AWS or GCP, including designing, deploying, and maintaining highly available applications using cloud technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
- 5+ years of experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in healthcare technology with a strong background in compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Strong written communication skills.
- High level of empathy and humility.
- Experience working with executive-level stakeholders across the organization.
- Experience working with a remote team.
Skills
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, system debugging, general system administration, and database administration.
- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
- Familiarity with security practices at all levels of software infrastructure.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, log aggregation and analysis, metrics and alerting, and disaster recovery planning.

Pay
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $180,000 to $190,000 per year. Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
