Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for perioperative services, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Direct and evaluate clinical quality, patient safety initiatives, operational efficiency, and financial performance across assigned departments.
- Partner closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals and service line objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, physician satisfaction, employee engagement, and service excellence.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including surgical volume, room utilization, turnover times, first-case on-time starts, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Lead budgeting, resource allocation, capital planning, and productivity management efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and staff.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered culture across perioperative services.
- Support growth initiatives, program development, and process improvement efforts aligned with organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree required.
- Licensure & Certifications: Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required. ACLS, BLS, and CNOR certifications preferred. Specialty certification(s) required within one year of assuming the position, as applicable.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience as a Director of Surgical Services or equivalent perioperative leadership role. Demonstrated success leading complex perioperative operations within an acute care hospital setting. Experience partnering with physicians, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to drive operational and clinical excellence.
- Skills & Qualifications: Strong understanding of perioperative operations, quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, productivity management, and resource optimization. Proven ability to lead change, develop teams, and drive organizational performance. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and understand English. Maintains and exceeds all specialty-specific educational requirements.
