Director of Perioperative Services

About the role

The Director is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and goals. This role ensures cost-effective operations, aligns resources with business trends and patient needs, and drives high-quality, safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cost-effective operations, aligning resources with business trends and patient needs
• Drives high-quality, safe patient care
• Establishes strong working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and vendors
• Led continuous performance improvement through data, staff engagement, and customer feedback
• Works collaboratively with senior leadership to achieve facility objectives
• Oversees all Surgery, Anesthesia, Pre Op, PACU, Pre Admission Testing and Sterile Processing services
• Works with all hospital departments to build an effective team to ensure continuous performance improvement

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing
• Baccalaureate degree required
• Masters degree preferred
• Current Texas RN License
• Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, DNV and Joint Commission rules and Regulations
• Current Texas RN or multistate compact License
• BLS and ACLS required
• CNOR preferred
• Independent decision making skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
• Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians
• Ability to lead customer service by example
