About the role

Our client creates beautiful, modern ritual objects and guiding materials that make Shabbat and Jewish holidays accessible, joyful, and meaningful. We are a mission-driven e-commerce company helping people build homes where being Jewish is lived and loved. The Director of Performance Marketing will be a proactive, results-driven leader and strategist, driving Oneg's marketing strategy and identifying strategic growth opportunities through user acquisition, retention, D2C sales, and a multi-channel marketing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee Oneg's direct-to-consumer marketing strategy, ensuring growth through Oneg's online store and managing the ads/SEO team to ensure efficient and effective ad spend and SEO strategy.
  • Oversee junior marketing members in their development of content calendar and content creation including Instagram, TikTok, Email marketing, and SMS.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize automated customer lifecycle flows (e.g., welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase) for email and SMS to drive repeat purchases and increase retention.
  • Lead the paid media strategy across major platforms like Meta and Google, focusing on maximizing Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and managing Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
  • Direct all aspects of the e-commerce sales funnel on Shopify, including conversion rate optimization and increasing Average Order Value (AOV).
  • Manage customer relationships and SMS/email list growth, focusing on improving retention, lifetime value, and repeat purchases.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to ensure marketing performance meets or exceeds sales goals; track and analyze individual and team sales metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivating environment that encourages personal and team growth.
  • Collaborate with the finance and ops teams to set and track KPIs to measure sales and marketing success, including revenue growth, community growth, new business, and engagement.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align on product launches and product development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing or sales, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
  • Graduate school business degree preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, operations, or a related field with tested experience.
  • Experience with Shopify, Hubspot, Klaviyo, Notion, and Google Suite.
  • An eye for design and high-quality art direction.
  • Relatability to Oneg's mission.
  • Skill in setting strategic goals, and the ability to budget with clear financial goals against deadlines based upon research, data, and analytics.
  • A natural leader with the ability to manage oneself, a team, external vendors, consultants, and partners to ensure excellence and timely delivery of goods and services.

Schedule

Full-time, hybrid (remote/onsite in New York City), with some travel required.
