Director of Patient Access

About the role

A health system in Queens is seeking a Director of Patient Access to provide leadership and oversight across patient access operations. This is a high visibility role with the opportunity to improve the patient experience, operational efficiency, and revenue cycle performance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for hospital Patient Access functions, including registration, admissions, scheduling, and related front end operations
• Lead, develop, and support Patient Access leadership and staff while ensuring consistent service standards and efficient workflows
• Monitor departmental performance, productivity, quality, patient experience, and key performance indicators
• Partner with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Clinical Operations, and other hospital departments to improve registration accuracy, authorization processes, collections, and overall patient flow
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve technology utilization, strengthen compliance, and enhance the overall patient experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
• 5+ years of progressive Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or related healthcare operations experience
• Previous leadership experience within an acute care hospital setting required
• Strong knowledge of hospital registration, admissions, insurance verification, authorization, financial clearance, and related revenue cycle processes
• Demonstrated experience managing teams, performance metrics, process improvement initiatives, and cross functional relationships
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills

Pay

$135,000 to $150,000
