Director of Nursing (RN)

Position Summary

As the Director of Nursing, you will lead all clinical operations within the facility while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassionate care. You will mentor and develop the nursing team, promote quality outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary leaders to provide exceptional care for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support the nursing department.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Maintain survey readiness and oversee quality improvement initiatives.
• Partner with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive clinical outcomes.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and retention strategies.
• Foster a positive, resident-centered culture focused on teamwork and excellence.
• Support employee engagement, education, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Required: Current, unrestricted Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience. Previous nursing leadership or department management experience. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Previous Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience. Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care leadership experience.
