Director of Nursing DON

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained. This position is for a new facility opening on 9/1/2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
• Ensure adequate staffing of licensed practical and/or registered nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, medications, and safety equipment for each shift to maintain quality care.

Requirements

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Three years of experience in a supervisory healthcare role (preferred).
