About the role
The Director of Marketing and Communications is the strategic architect and guardian of the hotel’s brand reputation, market positioning, and guest engagement strategy. This leader develops and executes integrated marketing, communications, public relations, digital, social media, partnerships, and guest acquisition initiatives that reinforce The Vineta Hotel as a premier ultra-luxury destination. A focus on local community building ensures the hotel becomes the epicenter of Palm Beach culture while engaging loyal Oetker Hotels clients. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and serving on the Executive Committee, this role collaborates closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Operations, Food & Beverage, and Corporate Brand teams to align initiatives with revenue performance and the hotel’s refined identity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the annual marketing, communications, digital, PR, social media, CRM, and partnership strategy for the hotel.
- Serve as brand guardian, ensuring all creative, written, digital, printed, and guest-facing communications reflect The Vineta Hotel’s standards and tone of voice.
- Lead storytelling initiatives across accommodations, restaurants and bar, courtyard, spa and wellness, cultural programming, private events, and local experiences.
- Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to create demand-generation campaigns, packages, offers, and tactical initiatives that support occupancy, rate, RevPAR, and ancillary revenue goals.
- Oversee media relations, press visits, influencer collaborations, reputation management, awards submissions, destination partnerships, and local community visibility.
- Manage the hotel’s digital presence, including website content, search, email marketing, social media, paid media, content calendars, and digital reporting.
- Develop luxury brand partnerships and co-marketing opportunities aligned with the hotel’s positioning and Palm Beach lifestyle.
- Lead and develop the marketing team and external agencies, ensuring clear priorities, accountability, creativity, and polished execution.
- Prepare regular marketing performance updates for the Managing Director, ownership, corporate stakeholders, and commercial leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within luxury hotels, resorts, lifestyle brands, private members clubs, or premium hospitality.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in a leadership role managing teams, agencies, budgets, and cross-functional marketing initiatives.
- Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and storytelling skills in English.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, SEM, paid social, CRM, email marketing, analytics, social media platforms, and luxury media relations.
- Role model leadership, discretion, appearance, and communication style appropriate for an ultra-luxury environment.
- Ability to create, activate, evaluate, and support marketing strategies that align with The Vineta Hotel’s brand promise and drive successful business decisions.
- Proficient in identifying market trends, luxury consumer behaviors, competitive positioning, and opportunities for growth.
- Competent to define key business drivers and translate them into compelling campaigns, promotions, partnerships, and guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively execute strategy, drive measurable results, and innovate ways to elevate the guest journey and hotel reputation.
- Highly skilled in networking to build meaningful relationships that grow brand visibility and commercial performance.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to act amid uncertainty, changing market conditions, or reputational considerations.
- Solid communication skills with leadership teams, corporate offices, ownership representatives, agency partners, and external stakeholders.
