About the role
The Director of Marketing & Communications is a strategic leader and brand steward responsible for driving PSA and Edge’s integrated marketing, communications, and storytelling strategy. This role balances high-level strategy with hands-on leadership, ensuring consistent brand expression, clear value articulation, and measurable business impact across member, partner, and internal audiences.
Responsibilities
Own and evolve the integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned to organizational goals and growth priorities
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on brand positioning, messaging, reputation, and communications strategy
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and accountability
Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations for direct reports and marketing initiatives
Ensure marketing strategies support PSA’s broader mission of strengthening the security industry ecosystem through member engagement, partner collaboration, and industry leadership
Champion and protect PSA and Edge brand identities across all channels and touchpoints
Oversee messaging frameworks, value propositions, and editorial standards that clearly articulate PSA’s value to members, technology partners, and industry stakeholders
Ensure consistent voice and positioning across digital, print, events, sales enablement materials, and partner communications
Act as senior editor for key communications and marketing content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and brand alignment
Oversee development of sales enablement materials, messaging frameworks, and marketing collateral that support member growth, partner engagement, and business development initiatives
Lead public relations, media strategy, and executive visibility efforts
Oversee press releases, contributed content, award submissions, speaking opportunities, and industry recognition programs
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry media and publications
Position executives and subject matter experts as thought leaders through proactive storytelling, content development, and speaking opportunities
Ensure consistent narrative development that highlights PSA’s leadership in workforce development, education, and the evolving security ecosystem
Oversee channel marketing strategy in partnership with sales, member success, and partnerships teams
Develop marketing programs that support member growth, engagement, retention, and overall member value
Lead marketing initiatives that strengthen PSA’s technology partner ecosystem through co-marketing programs and partner campaigns
Oversee sponsorship marketing and activation across events, campaigns, and digital channels to ensure strong partner value and measurable impact
Support lifecycle marketing initiatives that strengthen the member experience from onboarding through long-term engagement
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver compelling, audience-specific campaigns and communications that reinforce PSA’s value to both members and partners
Oversee digital properties and content strategy, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and business goals
Define success metrics, dashboards, and reporting structures to measure marketing performance, engagement, and ROI
Oversee marketing operations infrastructure including audience segmentation, marketing data management, and system adoption across marketing and sales teams
Collaborate with technology, finance, and sales teams to strengthen marketing data capabilities within existing systems, including NetSuite and related platforms
Use insights and analytics to continuously optimize campaigns, messaging, and marketing channels
Stay current on marketing technology, digital trends, and evolving best practices
Provide strategic marketing oversight for PSA’s major industry events and conferences
Ensure consistent messaging and strong attendance campaigns across flagship events such as TEC and other PSA programs
Support integrated partner visibility and sponsorship activation within event marketing strategies
Collaborate with events, sales, and partner teams to maximize the impact of PSA’s industry presence
Oversee internal communications strategy, including leadership messaging, all-hands communications, and internal platforms
Ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational priorities
Support executive communications that reinforce transparency, culture, and organizational direction
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
8–10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications
Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing multiple marketing disciplines
Proven success in brand management, strategic communications, public relations, and marketing program development
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills (writing samples required)
Qualifications
Experience leading through growth or organizational change
Strong executive presence and ability to influence without authority
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
Experience partnering closely with sales, leadership, and cross-functional teams
Experience supporting partner ecosystems, membership organizations, or channel-based business models

Pay
$110,000 - $130,000
Schedule
Full-time position with occasional travel to PSA events, member meetings, and industry events several times per year.
