Overview
Viceroy Hotels & Resorts seeks a Director of Marketing to join its pre-opening team. The Director will drive revenue, brand visibility, and market positioning for the hotel through integrated marketing strategies, seasonal campaigns, and compelling activations and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead and partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing in the development and execution of the annual marketing/PR/market positioning strategy.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight across all marketing disciplines as the on-property marketing leader.
- Collaborate with the Viceroy corporate brand marketing team to localize and activate brand campaigns, seasonal narratives, and key initiatives at the property level.
- Ensure a cohesive and integrated marketing approach across the hotel, restaurants, and spa, balancing individual outlet needs with overarching brand consistency.
- Lead the planning and execution of events, media visits, influencer stays, and press FAMs, ensuring experiences are aligned with brand positioning, commercial needs, and storytelling goals.
- Oversee integrated marketing campaigns across PR, Revenue, Social marketing, Digital marketing and distribution, including partnerships, group promotions, leisure promotions, and social/catering events.
- Act as primary liaison with a variety of partners, including travel industry consortiums, PR firms, social media agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee relationships with third-party representation companies regarding PR and marketing needs as directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing and/or Viceroy corporate team.
- Direct and manage creative/advertising and PR agencies to ensure development of high-quality collateral, campaigns, and press-worthy stories and events.
- Oversee and support client events and brand activations.
- Identify, secure, and lead strategic partnerships, and oversee execution of marketing-oriented action plans with partners.
- Create and maintain a PR action plan and content calendar aligned with seasonal themes and business priorities.
- Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual recaps, highlighting performance, insights, and opportunities, and present findings to leadership.
- Participate in leadership meetings, weekly marketing meetings, and daily briefings as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
- Some experience in New York market preferred
- Experience in a luxury/lifestyle hotel background required
- A minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in progressive marketing/PR roles, with leadership experience preferred
- Pre-opening experience a plus
- Strong strategic thinking and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
