Director of Life and Workforce Readiness

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, colleges, universities, and community organizations.
  • Expand opportunities for career exposure in priority pathways such as STEM, trades, healthcare, business, finance, creative industries, and public service.
  • Cook up partner-led workshops, job tours, workplace visits, and skill-building sessions for teens.
  • Maintain updated partnership inventories and ensure alignment with teen interests and regional labor market needs.

Program Design & Coordination

  • Develop and coordinate annual calendars for workforce and career readiness experiences, including Opportunity Fair, Pique Week, job tours, and financial literacy experiences.
  • Support delivery of essential employability and life skills workshops using BGCA resources such as CareerLaunch, Money Matters, and the Workforce Development Framework.
  • Facilitate youth voice and co-design sessions to ensure programming reflects teen interests, feedback, and evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with Club staff to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all sites.

Teen Experience & Engagement

  • Partner with Site Directors and Success Coaches to strengthen teen recruitment, attendance, and retention in workforce-related programming.
  • Support implementation of teen leadership initiatives, including Keystone, Torch Club, and youth-led service projects.
  • Promote a vibrant, inclusive teen experience with a focus on belonging, skill-building, and leadership development.
  • Provide tools, templates, and best practices to help Clubs implement high-quality experiences consistently.

Data, Tracking & Reporting

  • Track teen participation, partnership engagement, and program activities using approved BGCCO tracking systems (MyFuture, MyClubHub, internal dashboards, etc.).
  • Gather and analyze input from youth surveys, interest assessments, and pulse checks to inform programming decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Grants and Data teams to provide accurate information for storytelling, reports, and compliance.
  • Develop impact summaries and success stories to highlight outcomes to funders, partners, and stakeholders.

Organizational Leadership

  • Represent BGCCO in local and regional workforce coalitions, career readiness councils, and BGCA professional networks.
  • Model organizational values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in all partnerships and interactions.
  • Contribute to organization-wide strategic initiatives, planning processes, and cross-functional alignment related to teen and workforce programming.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and system-building within BGCCO’s teen experience.
