Director of Life Enrichment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate offerings through planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall program using standard and innovative methods that encourage well-being.
• Prepare monthly activity calendar and review daily to assist each resident to participate in planned activities.
• Know the Lifestyle and Leisure information for each resident.
• Initiate leisure activities for residents as a group and individually.
• Encourage and assist residents to socialize and develop friendships with others.
• Keep abreast of current regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
• Participate in community planning related to the interests of the community and the services and needs of the resident and family.
• Direct the community’s transportation program.
• Maintain an excellent working relationship with other department supervisors and coordinate the life enrichment program to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
• Make daily rounds to assure that staff are performing required duties, and that appropriate life enrichment programs are rendered.
• Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of Staff for the department.

Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, education of an Activity Director (complete Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals “MEPAP” curriculum) and/or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college preferred with similar education/experience or qualified therapeutic recreation specialist.
• Experience In a Field Of Social Services Preferred.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing life enrichment activity services.
