Director of Integrated Marketing
About the role
Triple Whale is hiring a Director of Integrated Marketing to connect strong ideas with the channels and programs that turn them into demand, qualified pipeline, and new customers. You’ll own Content and Performance strategy, investment decisions, and results across evergreen programs and integrated campaigns. We’re looking for someone with depth in both content and demand generation. You should know what makes a story worth reading, how to get it in front of the right people, and how to turn that attention into business. You’ll bring strong judgment about the work itself and the analytical skills to decide where we should invest. You’ll lead the established heads of Content and Performance, setting direction, developing their capabilities, and holding the teams accountable for results. You’ll partner closely with Brand, Creative, Creator Marketing, Product Marketing, and Ecosystem Marketing to bring the work to life.
Responsibilities
Own the evergreen content and performance strategies
- Build a year-round strategy that connects audience needs and business priorities across content, paid acquisition, lifecycle, and conversion rate optimization.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Sales to identify customer problems, buying motivations, and barriers to purchase.
- Turn those insights into audience-specific programs that build demand and help people evaluate and buy.
- On Content, partner with the Head of Content to shape the editorial strategy across social, video, thought leadership, and education. Develop distinctive points of view, choose the stories and formats to invest in, and set clear quality expectations.
- Connect original ideas with distribution, giving strong work a longer life across channels while balancing timely stories with lasting educational value.
- On Performance, partner with the Head of Performance on channel strategy, audience targeting, and testing priorities.
- Work with Creative, web partners, and Product Marketing to improve offers, landing pages, and conversion paths.
- Use channel results to inform content and creative decisions, and use strong content to make paid and lifecycle programs more effective.
- Across lifecycle, shape email and in-app programs around audience needs, customer behavior, and the next useful action. Guide segmentation, messaging, and testing so the experience feels relevant and connected.
- Own acquisition campaigns that convert free users to paid customers, partnering with Growth on activation, adoption, and expansion.
Lead creative, integrated campaigns from idea to results
- Own integrated campaigns from brief through launch, optimization, and results.
- Turn business priorities and customer insights into original campaign ideas with a clear point of view.
- Work with Brand and Creative to develop the concept, story, and execution, setting a high bar for work that earns attention and motivates action.
- Align Content, Performance, Brand, Creative, Creator Marketing, Product Marketing, and Ecosystem Marketing around the campaign idea, audience, objective, budget, and required resources.
- Connect content, paid media, events, and lifecycle touchpoints, including email and in-app messaging, into a coherent campaign. Each channel should contribute to the idea and customer journey rather than repeat the same message.
- Create room for experimentation and use AI and automation where they help the teams develop better ideas, learn faster, or improve execution.
Build strong teams and develop their leaders
- Assess the capabilities Content and Performance need, develop your functional leaders, and make hiring and organizational recommendations as the work evolves.
- Set clear expectations, give direct feedback, and build teams that combine strong marketing judgment with reliable execution.
- Challenge recommendations and stay close to important work, helping leaders strengthen their own judgment and their teams.
Own investment decisions and results
- Be accountable for marketing-sourced pipeline and net-new customer acquisition.
- Set targets and allocate Content and Performance resources across evergreen programs, campaigns, and new ideas.
- Balance near-term acquisition goals with longer-term audience and demand building.
- With operations and analytics partners, establish reliable tracking and reporting across engagement, acquisition efficiency, and pipeline quality.
- Work with Sales to understand lead quality and with Growth on coordinated customer campaigns.
- Use that evidence to decide what to continue, expand, change, or stop.
- When priorities compete, make the investment tradeoffs and align partner leaders around the marketing objective.
- Be comfortable questioning attribution, testing assumptions, and evaluating audience-building work over a different time horizon than conversion campaigns.
Requirements
- 12+ years of B2B marketing experience, including substantial experience in SaaS or software businesses and direct responsibility for integrated marketing, demand generation, and content strategy.
- 5+ years in senior marketing leadership roles, including managing managers or functional heads, owning budgets, and setting strategy across multiple marketing disciplines.
- Strong creative and editorial judgment, alongside hands-on depth in paid acquisition, lifecycle marketing, and content distribution. You can develop original campaign ideas and give specific feedback on concepts, stories, and execution.
- Experience with both sales-assisted and self-serve customer journeys. You understand how content, campaigns, and conversion paths support each, from generating qualified sales opportunities to helping customers evaluate and buy independently.
- A record of building evergreen content and demand programs and owning integrated campaigns from brief through results. You can show distinctive campaign ideas and explain the customer insight, creative choices, distribution strategy, and commercial results behind them.
- Strong analytical skills and experience making investment decisions using acquisition costs, conversion, pipeline quality, and business results. You understand the limits of attribution.
- Deep, practical AI proficiency in profession and personal lives, with examples of repeatable workflows that go beyond basic prompting and improve research, creative development, analysis, or marketing execution. You can explain the tools, context, quality controls, and results behind the work.
- Clear communication, direct feedback, and the ability to bring teams with different priorities together around a plan.
- Familiarity with the ecommerce landscape is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with the broader AI & data landscape is also a strong plus.
