Responsibilities
- Establish standards and procedures for staff and plan work schedules to ensure adequate service and coverage.
- Review staffing to ensure proper coverage while keeping work hours within budget.
- Perform all employment actions and decisions for the Housekeeping Department: screens, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, disciplines, and terminates departmental personnel.
- Follow all workplace injury procedures, including completion of reports for timely reporting and issuing corrective action when necessary.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of all areas of the building, coordinating with the Maintenance Department.
- Inspect all work in progress and/or completed by staff or outside contractors and maintain cleanliness checklists.
- Initiate a training program for all staff and conduct monthly in-services for staff.
- Keep informed and updated on new and improved cleaning methods, products, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain strict inventory, ordering supplies as needed while staying within budget.
- Inspect vacated apartments and complete the cleaning within the prescribed time frame for seamless turnover.
- Maintain all files and records consistent with the adequate functioning of the department.
- Provide reports as required and deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
- Perform cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
- Perform regular inspections of resident areas and rooms for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Shampoo rugs in both resident and common areas.
- Ensure proper safety and security regarding resident belongings and items used in carrying out housekeeping and laundry functions.
- Attend quarterly Q&A meetings and make recommendations to improve operations, safety, and/or cost.
- Adhere to and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
