Director of Fire Safety Division

About the role

The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services is seeking an accomplished, mission-driven leader to serve as Director of the Fire Safety Division. Based in Stow, Massachusetts, the Director provides strategic leadership for fire prevention, code development and enforcement, licensing, fire protection engineering, regulatory compliance, public education, and statewide fire safety policy. The position works closely with municipal fire departments, state agencies, professional organizations, industry partners, and other public safety leaders throughout the Commonwealth. We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking executive who can lead a multidisciplinary team, navigate complex regulatory issues, build strong partnerships, and turn policy into meaningful public safety outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for fire prevention, code development and enforcement, licensing, fire protection engineering, regulatory compliance, public education, and statewide fire safety policy
• Work closely with municipal fire departments, state agencies, professional organizations, industry partners, and other public safety leaders throughout the Commonwealth
