Responsibilities

  • Actively invest in becoming familiar with Terranea, investors, partners, lenders, and the project.
  • Review and provide suggestions for the business plan, strategy, timelines, and budgets for the Resort.
  • Execute proper accounting practices, maintain accurate financial records, and prepare financial reports.
  • Utilize standard and comprehensive metrics to drive continuous improvement for the Resort.
  • Assist in nurturing the relationship with Resort owners and coordinate reporting as required.
  • Supervise and coordinate reporting, provide timely monthly reporting, and respond to questions or requests.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, fiduciary, reporting, and financial service requirements for unit owners.
  • Work with property and corporate personnel to prepare budgets and ensure capital expenses are approved and tracked.
  • Complete year-end audit processes, review reconciliations, and coordinate external auditor visits.
  • Review and interpret operating results, make recommendations for cost reductions, profit improvement, and benefit to the Resort.
  • Organize and drive the annual budgeting process, prepare and review budgets, and ensure accuracy and completion on or before the due date.
  • Aid in the preparation and final review of the annual business plan, check appropriation requests against approved budgets, and manage budgeted expenditures.
  • Serve as liaison between Resort financial operations and the HOA board, and coordinate development financial activity into operating activity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in hospitality and real estate industry
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in senior management
  • Proven track record of success developing strong and innovative Finance organizations in a fast-paced resort environment
  • Experience in hospitality opening or expansion (large resort)
  • Experience with complex hospitality operations and accounting
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills
  • Sound judgment, personal integrity, and ethical behavior
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system for daily accounting functions
