Director of Finance
About the Role
Piramal Pharma Solutions is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) offering end-to-end development and manufacturing solutions across the drug life cycle. We serve clients through a globally integrated network of facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing services including Drug Discovery Solutions, Process & Pharmaceutical Development, Clinical Trial Supplies, Commercial supply of APIs and Finished dosage forms, and specialized services like Highly Potent APIs and Antibody Drug Conjugation.
Reporting to the Vice President & Site Head, this role manages all financial tasks for the Lexington site, maximizing return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The position also involves timely identification and communication of financial risks and leading the organization to understand financial implications of decisions.
Responsibilities
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting key financial data on a routine basis and establishing action plans where appropriate.
- Manages the annual budgeting process.
- Provides timely, accurate, and detailed forecasting for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Requirements.
- Maintains banking relationships with the company’s financial institutions.
- Identifies opportunities to maximize and improve financial performance as well as mitigate risks.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching legislation, consulting with advisors, and filing financial reports.
- Advises Senior Management of actions and potential risks.
- Oversees inventory management, including cycle counts, year-end physical inventory, and cost corrections/reconciliations.
- Complies with audits as required.
- Ensures effective expense controls across the business.
- Leads ERP development and implementation across site functions.
- Leads non-technical functions when necessary.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively.
- Takes corrective action as necessary in accordance with company policy.
- Stays up to date on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Serves on the Board of Directors for Piramal Pharma Solutions, Inc., including potential board roles on US parent companies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA/CPA highly preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience leading an accounting/finance department, preferably within a manufacturing company.
- Previous managerial experience required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems; SAP experience highly preferred.
- Strong business/commercial acumen and leadership skills.
- Ability to understand business processes and provide leadership to all functions.
- High ethical standards and the ability to maintain extreme confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to develop, perform, evaluate, and troubleshoot within a scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently against multiple deadlines.
