About the role
This position is open solely for the retire/rehire purpose of Nichalas Davis. If the person selected is not affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters – Local 1264 union, he or she must become a member in good standing within 30 days of beginning work.

Example of Duties
- Responds to fire alarms and other emergencies including medical emergencies.
- Affords assistance in cleaning/maintenance of fire station, equipment, and apparatus.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must possess the State of Alaska Firefighter I Certification, and State of Alaska Paramedic License (in order to be considered, must submit both copies along with the application).
- At least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license.
NOTICE
If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160[10]). Accordingly, it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from the date requested. The processing fee of $54.25 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable), is the responsibility of the selected applicant and must be accomplished before beginning work. As a condition of employment, the person selected will be required to successfully complete a drug test prior to beginning work. If selected for hire, a pre-employment physical and psychological assessment will be required to establish the ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. All information from these exams is the property of the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) and confidential. Copies of the exams will not be provided to the applicant by either the MOA or the medical examiner. Participation in the examinations does not create a doctor-patient relationship with the examiner, because the exams are conducted solely to determine potential suitability for the aforementioned position and not to provide medical services or treatment to the applicant.
