Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and mentor Superintendents.
• Provide director-level oversight of all field operations.
• Manage overall workforce to ensure adequate manpower levels are maintained on projects by the superintendent team.
• Ensure manpower levels are forecasted properly to allow for recruitment or reduction based on company, regional, and area needs.
• Manage the Manpower spreadsheet/program.
• Proactively forecast future manpower levels through coordination with Superintendents on active projects and the Pre Award Department for future projects.
• Actively communicate and coordinate within the Management team to identify future project needs relative to manpower levels and capabilities.
• Oversee companywide workforce development.
• Monitor apprentice ratios companywide, regionally, and by project.
• Manage the Manpower log indicating current and future manpower needs.
• Work closely with the Human Resources Department to document and resolve field personnel issues.
• Ensure all Field Operations policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to by Superintendents and field leadership.
• Establish, implement, and maintain field operations programs and procedures as needed to ensure successful performance.
• Assist in the development of training programs for the improvement and development of all field personnel.
• Assist with implementation of safety policies and training; participate in safety/incident investigations and review.
• Work directly with the recruitment department to maintain adequate workforce levels.
• Assist in recruitment efforts, including screening and interviewing candidates for key positions.
• Monitor material procurement activities to ensure timely preparation and efficiency of material requisitions by field leadership.
• Maintain Superintendent accountability to ensure performance objectives are met.
• Seek and evaluate industry trends and changes to ensure Rex Moore remains at the leading edge of construction technology related to field operations.
• Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios.
• Drive change and improvement to impact labor performance meaningfully.
• Hold Superintendents accountable for meeting project objectives and compliance with Foreman job responsibilities.
• Approve Foreman Project Assignments.
• Manage the overall field workforce.
• Approve temporary manpower usage.
• Determine travel pay.
• Approve Foreman bonus and classification determinations.
• Oversee and manage the Tool program and Fleet assignment.
• Oversee the Prefabrication Department.
• Identify field training needs and utilize the Workforce Development Team for assistance and implementation.
• Create and maintain a Field training calendar and content.
• Ensure the use of field quality control measures.
• Coach individuals on their career goals and progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of work experience in the electrical and/or solar construction industry.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
• BS degree in engineering or other technical discipline; MBA preferred.
• CA Professional Engineers (PE) license and/or PMP certification preferred.

• Strong leadership, relationship building, financial, and operational management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
• Ability to hear with or without correction to receive and interpret detailed information.
• Required to sit at a desk workstation for long periods of time.
• Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
• Frequently required to walk and stand.
• May involve infrequent site visits requiring the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Required to have visual acuity with or without correction to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents.
• Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Location

Rex Moore has branch offices located in Sacramento, Fresno, Reno, and Atascadero. This position may require travel to various project sites.
