About the role

We are looking for a Director of Facility Operations to join our team. This role supervises the maintenance of buildings, grounds, security, and mechanical assets, and oversees housekeeping, laundry, and transportation services in accordance with community policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance of community buildings, grounds, security, and mechanical assets.
  • Oversee housekeeping, laundry, and transportation services in line with established guidelines.
  • Manage the total operation and maintenance of the campus to high standards.
  • Develop vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for maintenance services.
  • Conduct apartment inspections prior to occupancy.
  • Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program and work order system.
  • Lead housekeeping and laundry operations in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Review monthly financial statements and address deficiencies with action plans.
  • Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data on time.
  • Manage team member staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure transportation vehicles are maintained, inspected regularly, and kept clean and safe.
  • Oversee safe transportation of passengers according to schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Bachelor’s/Technical degree in a related field.
  • Four years of maintenance supervision experience.
  • HVAC experience or training.
  • Working knowledge of machinery, tools, repair techniques, plumbing, and related repairs.
  • Experience with electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels, emergency response systems, and disaster preparedness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and provide leadership.
