Director of Facilities
Job Description
Oversees facility design to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Manages project timelines, budgets, and resources for successful completion.
Supervises construction management activities to ensure quality and adherence to plans.
Plans and coordinates equipment needs for new and existing facilities.
Establishes project budgets and manages costs effectively.
Oversees repairs and maintenance for all facilities.
Ensures compliance with construction standards and regulations.
Captures and coordinates construction projects, including planning and execution.
Makes sure project progress is monitored and addressed promptly.
Manages vendor relationships and contracts for construction and maintenance services.
Develops and implements maintenance schedules to ensure optimal facility operation.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of facilities planning, capital and operating budget development, facilities operations and maintenance, and/or facilities management in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of accounting, budgeting and business management practices
- Knowledge of utilities management
- Knowledge of computer applications in facilities design, facilities operations and administrative management, laws governing facilities operations including environmental protection, occupational safety and human accommodations, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency in managing a group of diverse activities and competing interests
- Skill in leading, administering, managing and directing others in a service oriented environment
- Skill in developing and maintaining internal and external relationship involving difficult, formal negotiations
- Proficiency in the use of computer aided design software (AutoCAD)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred
Skills
