Full-time, exempt/salaried position reporting to the Principal.
About the Role
The Director of Facilities fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, assigning, and managing the work of custodians, maintenance, security, grounds personnel, and third-party vendors.
Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and manage maintenance and operations personnel.
- Work in cooperation and communicate regularly with the Dean of Business Operations on matters related to vendors, contracts, and costs associated with facilities maintenance and repair.
- Ensure school buildings, grounds, facilities, equipment, and bus fleet are operational, safe, and meet security policies and guidelines.
- Inspect school buildings and grounds to assure proper safety, cleaning, and sanitation standards are maintained.
- Assume responsibility for the school alarm system.
- Arrange for necessary repair work by vendors.
- Plan, assign, and manage the work of grounds keeping personnel engaged in maintenance and care of trees, shrubs, lawns, and athletic fields.
- Assist in selection, training, and evaluation of custodial, grounds, and maintenance personnel; conduct meetings to provide technical work direction and general information.
- Plan and implement a preventive maintenance program for school buildings and grounds.
- Develop and oversee the custodial/maintenance site budget, including third-party vendors.
- Coordinate use of school facilities with staff and community groups; communicate with users about specific needs; assist the public as necessary.
- Respond to emergency call-backs during off-duty hours.
- Manage and review service contracts.
- Oversee and assist the transportation coordinator in ensuring all transportation and maintenance of fleet needs are met.
- Oversee and assist the rental coordinator in assuring proper scheduling, issuing of contracts, and customer service.
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Support and adhere to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
- Adhere to safety training and protocols daily, taking precautionary measures to ensure safety and well-being.
- Protect the confidentiality of information or material obtained in service to the organization.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy.
- Take a solution-oriented approach in interactions and promote collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties
- Assist the admissions, development, and alumni relations offices in coordinating and facilitating events, both on and off campus.
- Work with committees associated with admissions, development, and alumni relations offices and volunteers to coordinate and facilitate events.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work well independently and on a team.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Required to work some weekends and nights.
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and valid vehicle insurance.
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.
