About the role

The Director of Executive Education is responsible for leading business development and revenue generation efforts for the Walton College Executive Education unit. This position develops and implements strategies to expand the client base, increase program revenue, and support the financial sustainability of executive education initiatives. The Director builds and manages relationships with external organizations, identifies professional workforce development needs, and collaborates with faculty and internal partners to design and deliver executive education programs. The position is accountable for revenue performance, client acquisition, account growth, long-term partnership development, and supervision of the Executive Education staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and revenue generation for the Executive Education unit.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the client base and increase program revenue.
  • Build and manage relationships with external organizations to identify workforce development needs.
  • Collaborate with faculty and internal partners to design and deliver executive education programs.
  • Oversee revenue performance, client acquisition, account growth, and long-term partnership development.
  • Supervise Executive Education staff.
  • Ensure regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance.
  • Create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, communications, adult education, or other related field.
  • Experience in business development, corporate sales, executive education, professional learning, or a related field, including direct responsibility for revenue generation, client acquisition, and closing complex service or program agreements.
  • Experience developing and executing revenue growth strategies, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, pricing structures, and service agreements.
  • Experience leading consultative sales engagements and translating organizational needs into structured service or program solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders within complex organizations.
  • Experience supervising professional staff or leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Business, Organizational Leadership, Higher Education, or other related field from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Experience in executive education or university-based professional development (preferred).
  • Experience managing long-term client partnerships that result in sustained revenue growth (preferred).
