Role Overview
The Regional Director of Environmental oversees environmental compliance, permitting, and landuse strategy across multiple operating divisions within the region. This role provides strategic leadership, reduces environmental risk, and strengthens the company's reputation as a responsible operator and community partner.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or related field
- 7+ years of progressive environmental compliance leadership, ideally in industrial, mining, or construction materials industries
- Experience preparing scientific and environmental reports
- Experience with public speaking and regulatory presentations
Prior to Requirements
- Experience in environmental programs for general industry
- Experience in government regulatory agency
- Experience leading multistate environmental programs
- Experience overseeing land use, permitting strategy, or mine planning
Duties and/or Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the regional environmental program, ensuring full compliance with EPA, state, and local regulations
- Oversee environmental permitting and landuse processes across multiple states and divisions
- Partner with operations leadership to develop environmentally responsible mine plans and operational practices
- Provide regional oversight of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) programs
- Lead training initiatives on regulatory requirements, compliance practices, and company environmental policies
- Represent the company in public hearings, stakeholder meetings, and regulatory interactions; build strong relationships with agencies and local communities
- Direct environmental inspections, audits, and risk-reduction strategies across the region
- Oversee regional property management, land stewardship, and duediligence efforts for acquisitions or leases
- Maintain properties within the Company's Managing Aggregate Resources System (MARS)
- Stay current on emerging regulations and assess their impact on regional operations
- Participate in due diligence activities for new properties, owned and leased
- Promote a strong environmental culture and safe work practices across all operations
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors

- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse teams and locations
- High proficiency with technology, reporting tools, and regulatory documentation
- Ability to travel across regional divisions regularly
