About the role

Staten Island Care Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Environmental Services to lead our housekeeping and environmental services department. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Environmental Services staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate services with Nursing, Dietary, Activities, Maintenance, and other departments.
  • Maintain current housekeeping policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, and housekeeping areas to ensure proper care and use.
  • Identify infection control concerns and ensure proper handling of cleaning tasks and hazardous materials.
  • Participate in regulatory and government inspections and assist with corrective action plans.
  • Report departmental activities, accidents, incidents, and concerns to the Administrator.
  • Develop and implement improvements to housekeeping and environmental services operations.
  • Oversee environmental services related to repairs, equipment installation, and facility projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Environmental Services/Housekeeping leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations, sanitation standards, infection control, and labor requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently make sound decisions when circumstances require.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate departmental programs and procedures.
  • Strong ability to supervise staff and work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Must be detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

Pay

$70,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on experience

Schedule

Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
