Director of Environmental Services

Summary

The Director of Environmental Services oversees and coordinates environmental services at Wesley Palms Retirement Community, including maintenance of the physical structure, housekeeping, custodial services, and landscape/grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates maintenance activities on utility and communication systems.
• Resolves environmental service problems and recommends improvements.
• Develops and implements waste management programs.
• Plans and modifies environmental service activities.
• Directs training and orientation of workers.
• Prepares department budget and monitors expenditures.
• Supervises managers and other staff in various departments.
• Attends and participates in department meetings and safety programs.
• Ensures compliance with safety standards and policies.
• Reports safety hazards and accidents.
• Complies with department and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 4+ Years of Facilities, Housekeeping, and Maintenance experience
• Knowledgeable in current State and Federal regulations
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and implement work assignments
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately
• Ability to understand, follow, support, and initiate policies and procedures
