About the role
The Director of Environmental Services will oversee facility cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental safety within a healthcare facility. You will lead and develop the housekeeping team to ensure all areas, common spaces, and operational zones meet high standards of quality and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing daily workflows, assigning duties, training staff on cleaning protocols, scheduling, inspections, supply management, and performance coaching to maintain a well-organized, efficient, and hospitality-driven housekeeping department.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics
- Monitor unit expenditures
- Develop and recommend department operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget
- Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments
- Actively communicate with administration and other hospital departments
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations
Requirements
- Four-year college degree and equivalent related experience required
- Two to four years plus of housekeeping management experience at a large hospital account required
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High customer service and quality attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Public speaking skills
