Job Summary

Once in a lifetime opportunity to help build and shape EVS operations at Illinois’ first freestanding cancer hospital opening Spring 2027 in Chicago! We’re looking for an experienced forward-thinking leader who embraces innovation, technology, and operational excellence to help elevate the patient and guest experience from day one. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics
  • Making sure unit expenditures are monitored
  • Developing and recommending department operating budget and ensuring the department operates within budget
  • Cooking up housekeeping activities with other departments
  • Actively communicating with administration and other hospital departments
  • Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising functions and activities of the department
  • Establishing work standards and work flow
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures for departmental operations
  • Encouraging and mentoring staff creativity and innovation
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Proactively achieving the facility goals and objectives
  • Demonstrating quality leadership in meeting performance plans
  • Reading, developing, and administering Total Quality Management process
  • Developing and maintaining job descriptions for department staff
  • Encouraging staff to participate in education programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four year college degree and/or equal related experience required
  • Six years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account required
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
  • General business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High customer service and quality attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Public speaking skills
  • Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff, to organize and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
