Director of DevOps

About the role

This role will guide enterprise DevOps and platform engineering efforts that support modernization, reliability, and scalable delivery across the organization. You will lead multiple distributed teams, strengthen engineering practices, and help shape the operating model for cloud infrastructure and automation. The position blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical oversight, with a strong focus on improving speed, quality, and cost efficiency. You will also partner closely with engineering and technical stakeholders to build high-performing teams and advance modern infrastructure capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple DevOps and automation engineering teams of 20-40 professionals
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence
• Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies for high-performing teams
• Establish clear career progression paths and technical competency frameworks
• Champion engineering best practices and modern DevOps methodologies
• Execute CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and container orchestration strategies
• Oversee multi-cloud infrastructure management and cost optimization

Qualifications

• 12+ years of technology experience, with 7+ years in DevOps or platform engineering roles
• 5+ years leading and scaling DevOps teams of 15+ professionals
• Experience managing global, distributed teams including offshore resources
• Proven track record of successful cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
• Proficiency with CI/CD platforms, particularly GitHub Actions
• Exceptional communication skills and strong strategic thinking abilities

Compensation

$150,000 – $180,000 annually
