Director of Development for Athletics (Administrator II)

About the role

Join Sonoma State University as the Director of Development for Athletics, a pivotal role in supporting the university's athletics program and future initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and cultivate major gift prospects and fundraising efforts for the Intercollegiate Athletics Program.
• Organize and communicate effectively with donors and potential donors.
• Steward alumni and other individual prospects, sponsors, and major donors.
• Coordinate gift processing and recruit, train, and motivate volunteers.
• Manage and conduct fundraising activities aligned with Sonoma State University priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in successful relationship building with prospects, volunteers, and board members.
• Proven track record of successfully working with individual donors, soliciting, and securing gifts.
• Experience in athletic fundraising within a university environment.
• A bachelor’s degree is required.

Benefits

This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave, and 15 paid holidays annually.

Pay

The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $8,334 - $8,667 a month.
