Position Summary
H.AAPI is seeking a Director of Development to lead, execute, and develop the organization's comprehensive fundraising strategy to support its mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and annual revenue goals.
- Lead all aspects of the organization's development program, including individual, major and corporate gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and special fundraising initiatives.
- Identify relevant grant opportunities, write compelling proposals, and track deadlines, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement activities
- Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising data
- Develop fundraising materials, donor communications, impact reports, and proposals in partnership with the Communications Department.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities to increase visibility and cultivate new funding relationships.
- Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers and committee members participating in fundraising initiatives and special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Interest in H.AAPI’s mission and commitment to supporting the AAPI community
- Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
- Comfort using basic digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Teams, with willingness to learn new systems
- Experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, community engagement, or partnership management.
- Reliable access to a laptop and stable internet connection
- Ability and willingness to travel within NYC for program support with advance notice
