Year Up United is a national 501(c)3 workforce development organization committed to ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity, education, and justice for all young adults. This role serves as a market-based sales leader within the Corporate Engagement function, securing high-quality work-based experiences for students and developing partnerships with major corporations nationwide.

About the role

The Director, Corporate Engagement – Large Local Account (LLA) Sales will report to the Sr. Director, Regional Sales (LLA). This position requires an experienced business developer and dynamic account professional to maintain and build relationships with large, local accounts (employer partners who can take 5+ Year Up United interns per cycle in one geographical area). The role focuses on ensuring students have access to high-quality work-based experiences and driving Year Up United’s innovation agenda by positioning Grads of Life and YUPRO Placement offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as local sales lead covering a specific assigned geography.
  • Implement fieldwork with assigned portfolios of target (new) and existing accounts, including presenting to boards, C-level staff, and other decision-makers to meet market internship needs for Large Local Accounts.
  • Achieve KPIs related to new internship sales, account renewals or expansions, revenue, cross-sales with Grads of Life or YUPRO, and conversions.
  • Transition accounts to post-sale colleagues during the matching process.
  • Attend local networking or industry events to generate new leads for yourself or colleagues.
  • Create a culture of high service, high support, and high expectations in work with corporate partners.
  • Support business planning in coordination with your manager as needed.
  • Leverage influence skills to work effectively within the team and across departments to build consensus and maintain accountability to targets.
  • Use Salesforce.com to maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Revenue Operations group to leverage existing processes, analytics, and enablement tools.
  • Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students.
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building and managing executive relationships across major accounts; direct sales or sales management experience leading regional teams.
  • 10+ years of consultative sales experience, requiring strong business acumen and an aggressive, adaptable selling style strongly preferred.
  • Successful track record in sales or account management positions.
  • Excellent networking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to set direction, manage complex processes, and enable high-quality organizational growth.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage the sales pipeline process.
  • Documented strengths in meaningful relationship building and people management and development.
  • Desire to work in a fluid, dynamic organization and interest in the nonprofit space.
  • Ability to lead, willingness to be led, and comfort with situational leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required; familiarity with Salesforce.com helpful.
  • Passion for working with and advocating for young adults, and an unshakable belief in their potential.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of Year Up United.

Pay

Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000.

Schedule

Starting January 5, 2026, employees are expected to work on-site at least two days per week (Monday through Thursday dependent on job requirements).

This is an exempt role (paid on a salaried basis). To be eligible for employment, candidates must live and work in a state (or an approved proximate state) where Year Up United operates. Approved proximate states include Connecticut, Indiana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Virginia.
