Johnson & Johnson MedTech - Neurovascular is seeking a Director of Commercial Marketing for North America (Canada, U.S., LATAM), based in Irvine, California. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence 3 days a week.

About the Role

The Commercial Marketing Director develops and executes commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, market adoption, and physician engagement across the product portfolio. This role partners with Sales, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Finance to translate business priorities into impactful commercial initiatives that accelerate performance across the Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual commercial marketing strategy aligned with business and revenue objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities through market expansion, physician adoption, pricing strategies, and commercial programs.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and investment decisions based on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and financial performance.
  • Translate market trends into actionable commercial strategies for sustainable growth.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Business Unit Head and Sales Leadership Team.
  • Own downstream marketing strategy, including product positioning, messaging, segmentation, lifecycle management, and commercialization plans.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities for new products, line extensions, and market expansion.
  • Partner with Global Marketing to influence future portfolio strategy using regional customer insights.
  • Lead regional commercialization strategy for new product launches, including segmentation, positioning, physician education, field readiness, and demand generation.
  • Ensure cross-functional launch execution across Sales, Clinical, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Global Marketing.
  • Develop physician adoption strategies to increase utilization and procedural volumes.
  • Build commercial programs for customer acquisition, retention, and account penetration.
  • Utilize customer insights, market research, and competitive intelligence to shape commercial strategy.
  • Support key opinion leader engagement and strategic customer partnerships.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to improve commercial execution and sales effectiveness.
  • Develop value propositions, sales tools, competitive messaging, and promotional materials.
  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns for awareness, physician adoption, and revenue growth.
  • Monitor business performance using financial, commercial, and market analytics.
  • Analyze revenue trends, physician utilization, market share, pricing performance, and competitive activity.
  • Present strategic business reviews and growth recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships across Sales, Clinical Education, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Global Marketing.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Manage commercial marketing budgets and investments, ensuring measurable business outcomes and positive ROI.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing commercial marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive commercial experience within medical device, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Proven success in downstream marketing, commercial strategy, sales leadership, or product management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product launches and commercialization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of physician-driven commercial models and healthcare markets.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Global Marketing.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and business planning.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and lead through collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Experience

  • Neurovascular, Interventional Radiology, Peripheral Vascular, Cardiology, or other physician-driven medical device markets.
  • Supporting both capital equipment and disposable product portfolios.
  • International or multi-region commercial organizations.
  • Commercial excellence initiatives, CRM systems, customer analytics, and market intelligence platforms.
  • Highly regulated healthcare environments.
  • Leading organizational transformation and change management initiatives.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $150,000.00 - $258,750.00. This position is eligible for participation in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
