Director of Clinical Svcs., Outside the Wire - Orange County

About the Role
The Director of Clinical Services for Outside the Wire reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health at the local U.S.VETS site. This individual will perform direct services and supervise the therapy and outreach/group activities for Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation New Dawn (OIF/OEF/OND) both on community college campuses and in local U.S.VETS housing programs. Responsibilities include strategic planning, outreach efforts with partners (e.g., local Universities, Community Colleges, and Military Installations), program management and evaluation, and ensuring clinical and administrative functions are integrated for optimum resource utilization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Outside the Wire Program operations and supervise all clinical staff and interns
- Develop and organize new therapy groups in the community college setting using interns and vet-to-vet therapy concepts
- Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic services and evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches to veterans, and manage completion by staff and interns
- Interview and assess the needs and services required by veterans, and manage completion by staff and interns
- Create and assist in the creation of therapeutic plans and/or interventions for veterans, ensuring completion by staff and interns
- Provide or coordinate training to U.S.VETS staff and interns on PTSD and other mental health identification and treatment approaches
- Manage the clinical intern program, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and directly supervising interns to ensure each receives required clinical supervision
- Build, establish, and maintain relationships and coordinate services at college campuses
- Manage a database of veterans served and outcomes achieved, including standard Outside the Wire program outcomes and any other required reporting for funders
- Analyze program performance and client satisfaction for ongoing quality assurance
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on progress and challenges, as requested by U.S.VETS
- Maintain client files and ensure audit-ready files for all participants
- Participate in compiling and submitting grant reports, with support from the Operations and Fiscal Departments
- Assist with ensuring compliance in administering the program
- Maintain required confidentiality
- Build and establish relationships with community organizations to locate groups and services that could benefit clients
- Conduct outreach and present to local military bases, universities, community colleges, and VA facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Independent professional licensure in the state where the site is located and meets requirements to supervise master-level students, at a minimum
- At least a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related human services field from an accredited graduate program
- The specialty area of the degree must be consistent with the assignment
- Minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience using evidence-based therapies, strongly preferred with the veteran population
- At least 2 years in a leadership, management, or supervisory role
- Ability to work independently and within a team at various locations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer and information systems
- Professional manner and appearance
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of clients, staff, and community members
- Ability to travel locally between program sites as needed, as well as periodic national travel for conferences/training
- Valid driver’s license required; if driving company vehicles, must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course
Pay
Salary Range: $86,520.00 - $122,210.00
