Job Summary

The Director of Clinical Informatics & Health IT will lead GBMS's healthcare technology infrastructure, data analytics, and clinical reporting systems. This role bridges clinical operations and information technology, focusing on developing, standardizing, and strengthening GBMS's health IT.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Strengthening & Team Management

    • Evaluate, refine, and scale the clinical informatics and health IT function.
    • Directly manage, mentor, and establish performance standards for the Clinical Applications team.
    • Streamline team responsibilities, ticketing workflows, and project pipelines for the EHR support staff.
  • Health IT Optimization & eCW Management

    • Advance the overall health information technology strategy.
    • Optimize and standardize eClinicalWorks (eCW) system configurations, module implementations, upgrades, and template customization.
    • Act as the primary liaison with eCW, Azara, HIEs, and external IT consultants.
  • Clinical Data Analytics, Dashboards & Reporting

    • Optimize and deepen the strategic utilization of Azara for population health management, risk stratification, and quality improvement.
    • Strengthen core infrastructure and timelines for the HRSA Uniform Data System (UDS) report.
    • Refine workflows for MCO and payer reporting to maximize incentive revenue.
    • Enhance, build, and launch automated dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Training Framework & Data Governance

    • Develop a comprehensive, ongoing EHR training curriculum and onboarding program.
    • Enforce GBMS's data governance policies to ensure standardized, accurate, and consistent documentation.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Information Technology, Computer Science, Nursing (with an Informatics focus), or a related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing clinical informatics, data analytics, or HIT systems, ideally within an FQHC environment.
  • EHR & Analytics Mastery

    • Extensive, hands-on experience configuring and administering eClinicalWorks (eCW).
    • Experience pulling data via Azara (or similar FQHC population health tools).
  • Leadership Experience

    • Proven experience directly managing technical staff.

    • Regulatory Literacy: Understanding of HRSA UDS reporting requirements, HEDIS measures, and quality incentive structures.
