Director of Business Operations, CPG

About the role

We are a small, in-person team in New York City that powers the AI infrastructure for 200+ brands like OLIPOP, Simple Mills, Dr. Squatch, and Tropicana. We are growing rapidly and recently raised a $15M Series A led by Footwork and Y Combinator.

Responsibilities

• Leverage deep technical & CPG industry knowledge to provide strategic guidance and support to existing customers, ensuring successful adoption and optimization of our software solutions.
• Partner with product development team to identify, prioritize, and define new software features based on CPG industry needs, market gaps, and client feedback.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at leading CPG companies, acting as a trusted advisor on business process optimization and technology solutions.
• Drive client success initiatives including implementation support, training, and ongoing consultation to maximize software ROI and strengthen customer retention.

Requirements

• 5+ years in Consumer Packaged Goods with demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: General Accounting, A/R Accounting, Trade Management, Trade Optimization.
• Passion for being at the technology leading edge, driving automation and optimization of core CPG functions through innovative software solutions.
• Strong understanding of complex deductions management workflows.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Excited to work at our NYC Headquarters 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Passionate about technology and its impact on CPG industries.
• Experience with CPG industry processes such as cash application, deductions management, trade accruals, and period close.
• Ability to translate complex business processes into clear product requirements and user stories.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
