Director of Business Development, Legal, Compliance, and Risk (Healthcare)
Job Summary
The Director of Business Development, Legal, Compliance & Risk is responsible for driving, monitoring, and improving sales performance for BDO’s legal channel service offerings. This includes electronic discovery, digital forensics, information governance, cyber security, data analytics, forensic accounting, and investigations. The position also involves building the sales presence and identifying new business opportunities.
Job Duties
- Develops new revenue opportunities for BDO's Services, targeting attorneys and corporate counsel.
- Bridges the gap between BDO and C-Suite executives, including CEOs, CFOs, and Board of Directors.
- Executes business development plans in collaboration with Advisory Principals and Managing Directors.
- Facilitates monthly meetings with the Regional BD Director and practice leaders to design, implement, and report on business development/marketing plans.
- Distributes quarterly business development plans, goals, and progress reports to Advisory practice leaders for feedback.
- Directs practice strategies and resources to improve sales effectiveness and ensures compliance with national processes.
- Negotiates pricing and service delivery with prospects.
- Provides feedback to National Business Development Services on processes, templates, and tools.
- Coordinates with BDO Alliance USA and BDO International member firms on initiatives, as appropriate.
Education Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) or more years of business development / marketing experience in a professional services environment or industry relevant firm required; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and seven (7) or more years of business development / marketing experience in a professional services environment or industry relevant firm, required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing, preferred.
- Advanced Degree (JD, MBA), preferred.
Experience
- Track record of developing business relationships with C-Suite executives and referral sources (attorneys, bankers, etc.).
- Experience working in professional services firms including accounting, cyber security, data analytics, software, business advisory services, and electronic discovery industries.
License/Certification
N/A
Software Proficiency
- Microsoft Office Suite, required.
- Client relationship management (CRM) experience, required.
- Microsoft Dynamics, preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge in the development, management, and execution of sales processes including business development planning, lead generation, event planning, pipeline management, account planning management, sales strategy, and development.
- Ability to develop business relationships with C-Suite executives and referral sources.
- Strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate BDO's business, marketplace, and value proposition.
- Knowledge of contact management software including updating, maintenance, and list generation.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to present and facilitate.
- Capacity to travel to assigned offices within the region on a periodic basis to meet with business development / marketing personnel, participate in events or sales meetings, and attend regional and national meetings, as necessary (up to 50 percent annually).
