Director of Business Development (DBD)
Facility: Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Denton – a brand-new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital opening in spring of 2027. Part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast.
About the role
We are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the development and implementation of business and marketing plans for the Rehabilitation Hospital. In this role, you will establish strategic marketing plans in collaboration with senior leadership to achieve the facility's objectives, design and maintain systems for strong relationships with Managed Care Providers, Medicare, Case Managers, other payers, and hospital personnel to build a robust patient referral network and beneficial reimbursement arrangements. You will also oversee the overall management of the Marketing and Admission Team.
Responsibilities
- Implement a comprehensive business plan to ensure Census and Mix Forecasts are met or exceeded, including internal and external targets, insurance rate targets, and action plans to evaluate the effectiveness of the Clinical Liaison Team. The business plan will be reviewed and updated at least quarterly.
- Gather comprehensive external information on markets, customers, and competitors on an ongoing basis.
- Serve as the managing director over the clinical liaison and admissions teams.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and ability to work in all business development roles as needed.
- Develop and manage the marketing department's operating budget.
- Develop, organize, and maintain a database system for decision support, including community needs, demand forecasting, program utilization, competitive analysis, and medical staff utilization trends. Utilize software tools such as LifePoint information systems alongside internal and external data for statistical analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Clinical License or Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare management preferred.
- Excellent skills in forecasting, market-based planning, communications, and public relations.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
