Director of Business Development and Marketing
Devereux is one of the largest and most advanced nonprofit behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Our League City campus, located just outside metropolitan Houston in northern Galveston County, provides a peaceful 49-acre environment for adolescents (ages 6–17) with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences. We offer comprehensive residential treatment, educational, and behavioral health services through an accredited school, therapeutic programs, and multidisciplinary teams.
About the role
Work independently to develop and implement innovative programs that transform lives while being part of a national team of driven professionals. This role focuses on strategic marketing and business development to enhance program awareness, enrollment, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives to enhance program awareness and enrollment.
- Partner with the national marketing office on digital marketing, social media, and content creation to promote services.
- Represent Devereux Texas League City at conferences, community events, and networking engagements.
- Monitor industry trends to identify growth opportunities and adapt strategies to ensure consistent referral volume aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with finance, admissions, and contracting teams to develop new funding partnerships.
- Lead marketing initiatives to increase program visibility, build payer and referral agency relationships, and drive referrals.
- Analyze market demands and competitive landscape to identify and pursue new revenue sources nationwide.
- Respond to business opportunities, including RFPs, with superior writing and innovative thinking.
- Manage the final stage of the sales cycle, including negotiation and contract signing.
- Oversee the admissions and utilization management team for the residential treatment program.
- Nurture current business relationships and proactively establish new ones with referral sources, including school districts, state agencies, Medicaid programs, MCOs, healthcare professionals, and advocacy organizations nationwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Health Care, Marketing, Healthcare Management, Communications, Human Services, Education, Organizational Leadership, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of extensive experience in marketing, admissions, or business development, preferably in the autism/IDD/behavioral health space.
- Proven ability to independently develop and implement marketing and sales strategies that drive growth and engagement.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with local and remote stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
