Director of Behavioral Services
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall direction, supervision and evaluation of treatment services in the inpatient behavioral health unit.
- Prepare and manage the budget; identify opportunities for financial savings without compromising patient care; identify opportunities for revenue enhancement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure staff and providers are educated on department policies and procedures.
- Ensure efficient staffing and provide administrative and clinical supervision for all staff assigned; evaluate staff performance to monitor achievement of goals and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes and develop strategies for continuous improvement; ensure compliance with accreditation standards; implement performance improvement initiatives based on data driven analysis of outcomes.
- Evaluate departmental functions of utilization review, corporate compliance, operations, and patient safety in partnership with health system departments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Certification in psychiatry, or applicable field, preferred
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in an acute mental health setting preferred
- Master's degree preferred (MSN, MBA, MHA, or leadership focused)
- BSN or LMSW in the State of New York
