Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Drive strategic growth of the advisory services business by expanding market presence, cultivating high-value relationships, and securing new clients in transportation, energy, environmental, state and local government IT, and other infrastructure-related sectors.
- Collaborate with peers to develop advisory service offerings that respond to market needs, anticipate industry trends, and position KCI as a trusted premier advisory partner.
- Provide leadership and management of key client engagements by shaping strategic approaches, advising on complex issues, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and client expectations.
- Mentor and supervise advisory staff throughout all phases of client engagements, ensuring project execution meets established scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Serve as a visible leader in the industry, leveraging established credibility, networks, and subject matter expertise to represent KCI at conferences, industry associations, client forums, and strategic partner engagements.
- Support the development of long-term strategic accounts, including account planning, relationship mapping, opportunity pipelines, and executive-level client engagement.
- Support business development strategy, including opportunity targeting, pursuits, positioning, partner development and leveraging existing relationships to expand KCI’s market share.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and technical teams to develop thought leadership, go-to-market strategies, proposal materials, pursuit narratives, and strategic messaging.
- Lead or support pricing, scoping, and negotiation of advisory engagements to ensure competitive positioning and strong financial performance.
- Monitor external trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes to anticipate opportunities and inform strategic planning.
- Operate independently while collaborating effectively across the organization.
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field is required.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in strategic advisory or consulting in technology.
- Experience originating, securing, and expanding advisory engagements.
- Experience in providing consulting services within transportation, energy, environment/water, state and local government IT, facilities and/or communications markets.
- Proven success in building and maintaining executive-level relationships and converting relationships into revenue growth.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and executive presence skills.
- Experience leading complex strategic initiatives while effectively influencing stakeholders and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to determine and deliver high-impact solutions.
