DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS

The Director of Advancement & Communications at Louisville Visual Art (LVA) is responsible for driving both the financial sustainability and public profile of the organization.

About the role

• Reporting directly to the Executive Director

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies
• Manage donor relations and stewardship efforts
• Plan and execute events to raise funds and awareness
• Oversee marketing and communications initiatives
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on messaging

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proven success in fundraising and event planning
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

• Exceptional storytelling and relationship-building abilities
• Experience with digital media and social media platforms
• Knowledge of nonprofit management principles
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Project management and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of nonprofit finance and accounting
