About the role

The Director of Advancement will report directly to the Head of School and serve as a member of the senior administrative team. They will lead philanthropy, engagement, communications, and community-building efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a talented advancement team
  • Guide a comprehensive program encompassing major gifts, annual giving, alumni relations, parent engagement, trustee relations, communications, and marketing
  • Build authentic relationships and cultivate a culture of philanthropy
  • Lead fundraising initiatives and develop strategies to increase support for the school
  • Develop and implement communication plans to engage alumni, parents, and trustees
  • Manage donor relations and stewardship activities
  • Work closely with the Head of School and other members of the senior administrative team to align advancement goals with the overall strategic plan of the school

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a K-12 educational setting
  • A proven track record of success in managing and growing major gift programs
  • A deep understanding of the principles of effective communication and storytelling
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in alumni relations and parent engagement
  • Ability to manage a diverse team and delegate tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of best practices in marketing and communications

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, along with a master’s degree in a related field such as public relations, marketing, or education administration
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of fundraising software and tools

  • Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting

Pay

The final compensation offered to the candidate of choice will be determined based on work experiences, qualifications, and leadership skill sets.

Schedule

This position is expected to pay an annual salary in the range of $300,000 - $325,000.
